The Institute of Information and Communication Technologies/Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (IICT/BAS; PB4) is one of the most important Bulgarian ICT research institutes consisting of 15 ICT oriented departments and having 216 employees and 4 buildings well equipped with hardware/software. Its main achievements are oriented to scientific-research/applied activities. Every year it executes more than 50 national/international projects under several funding schemes. Its personnel have experience in working with/educating civil protection volunteers and also worked in the study area having implemented various projects. In OUTLAND, BAS was participating as PP5. Financially, IICT/BAS is fully capable of accomplishing its role within the project.
